A few years ago, right after Expression Web 4 was released I obtained a free upgrade from Microsoft form Expression Web 3 to 4. When I down loaded the program from the link provided at the time I received a product key. The program I received was the Expression Web 4 Studio. This key has worked for me for several years.
Recently my computer crashed and I had to wipe my HD. I re-installed all software including Expression Web. This time however I had to go use a "trial version" download.
