This is what a successful install looks like, on Windows 7 x At this point, the center light on your controller should not be blinking. This is a good indication that it is working. If you followed the directions properly, the main screen should look like this. Note that the controller is listed at the top. You can now run the controller with whatever features you wish.
Perhaps Performance could be an issue, so only enable the features you need. If you followed the guide correctly, you should see your controller listed, and have full control of all the inputs.
If you see that dialog, you did it wrong, and the driver did not install. Finally, we have a decent gamepad to use in Windows, including bit. Thanks to the folks at MotionInJoy for creating this driver. And I think they are the only ones that work in bit. So I tried installing this program to use my Dualshock 4 controller with certain games I'm on Windows 10, btw , but while installing I noticed an error or 2 pop up, and then when it finished, my mouse and keyboard stopped responding. I restarted my computer to see if it would fix it, but when I got to my login screen, my cursor was nowhere to be seen, and there was still no response from it or my keyboard.
I've tried entering safe mode which my mouse and keyboard work in the bios advanced settings , but the same issue occurred when my login screen popped up during safe mode. I have no idea what to do, I virtually can't use my mouse or keyboard at this point. If you checked all the boxes in the installer, it also overwrites any USB devices currently plugged. Get another mouse and keyboard, clean wipe and only check the checkbox for your Dualshock 4 controller, under this category:. As for installing the correct drivers, do you mean I select only the 'Install Dualshock 4 driver' option, and nothing else under the 'Choose Dualshock 4 controllers to install' drop down?
Cuz those all look like the USB ports that my other devices are currently using. Or should I plug in my Dualshock 4 controller and select it from that drop down menu if that's possible?
That's exactly what is under this dropdown. All USB devices. So checking 'Install DualShock 4' driver checks everything under the dropdown, and you know what happens then. You'll be able to use your DS4 on any port that you want, and you can plug something else where the DS4 was. It starts up automatically whenever you boot Windows, so you might wish to disable that setting. It also plays some annoying sounds which you might want to disable as well.
You can disable your controller vibration, or adjust your analog sticks deadzones, change your controller latency and your led display, and much more.
Creating different profiles allows you to change them on the fly, eliminating the need to fiddle with your controller settings every time you want a different set-up. After setting everything up, your PS3 controller should be recognized and should behave like it was an Xbox controller. Unplug your controller and wait for a couple of seconds while it syncs via Bluetooth.
Whenever you reboot your computer, simply plugging the controller and unplugging it should get the Bluetooth to sync automatically and it will work wirelessly. It worked for me right off the bat though. What I did was uninstall the old drivers I had, then followed the directions. Then went to test it, and it was all good. I got a "backup" copy of some post apocalyptic game with horrible animations, and low to none support for ps3 owners, and I want to play it for free :D.
I want to finish Gears of War too, I bought it before to get my ps3 and I left it unfinished. I ended buying a cheap wired xbox controler and wow!
Every game just accept it np and I got used to it now that I am preffering it more over the Sony's control. I remember needing to play Bioshock with that POS uncomfortable wired controller. I seriously don't get how people like it better than the Dualshocks. Of course, by the time i beat Bioshock i was pretty much used to it.
No doubt about it though, that is by far one of the worst controllers i have ever played a game with. I did the same.
It's not that I like the controller better I just hate to use triggers to fire , but it just works out of the box in most cases.
Most games recognize the controller right away and change their behavior, while with a standard pad and that is what the Sixaxis becomes is always tricky to configure and map buttons. Its all good now. Now I don't have to use that crappy controller anymore, praise the heavens. Ive been using the wireless controller on my pc and Ive been loving it.
Almost all games recognize the controller by default which is nice. I would prefer to use the ps3 remote because im more accustomed to it personally though. Now I can play some fighting games without that crappy wired controller.
The directional Pad buttons are horrible with the controllers. But that's different with the PS3 DS3 controller.
