To install a patch locally Run the self-extracting file labeled. The package extracts the installation files. After the extraction is complete, setup launches the package to start the installation. Select the Local Install option to apply the patch locally as illustrated by the following dialog: Click Next.
The tool detects installed arcserve Backup products and selects them for update. If there are any installation notes for a component, the details about the component display below the installation path. The dialog also lists affected components that are not present on the server. Click the Install button to continue applying the updates. Note: The Install button is not accessible disabled when setup detects that a prerequisite component or component release level is missing. To remedy this condition, check the prerequisites listed in the description field, exit the patch installation utility, apply the prerequisite to your current installation, and then restart the utility.
Click the Install button. After the patch is applied to your installation, the tool displays a list of the installed and updated components.
Ensure that no errors occurred while installing the patch. Perform all required post installation tasks that appear in the Installation Summary dialog as illustrated by the following dialog: Install a Patch Remotely This section describes how to use the Patch Management Tool to install a patch on one or more remote computers.
To install a patch remotely Run the self-extracting file labeled. Click the Remote Install option to apply the patch to one or more remote computers and click Next. You will be prompted to enter in a valid user ID and password. The GUI consists of several viewing panes, menus, and options.
